FRENCH BULLDOGS

Shrinkabulls only breeds a couple very special rare French Bulldogs. We have owned English bulldogs throughout our lives. We also breed select rare French bulldogs for a couple reasons. Our French bulldogs are tremendously smaller than even the smallest mini Eng Bulldogs. For example 28 lbs is LARGE for one of our Frenchies. Our French bulldogs are also healthier & lower maitenance than English bulldogs in general but still posses that amazing one of a kind personable clown bulldog personality.

We work for our frenchies to be smaller, wrinklier & more unique than typical Frenchies. The french bulldog originated in the 19th Century Nottingham, England Lacemakers selectively bred the early french bulldog(frenchie) for a downsized or "toy" English bulldog, for use as a lap pet. When the Industrial Revolution displaced some lacemakers to France, they took the dogs with them, and soon the "toy" bulldogs became popular in France, where wealthy Americans doing the Grand Tour saw and fell in love with them. In the late 1800s these "toy bulldogs" became known as French Bulldogs! Very cool!

French bulldogs are often described as "a clown in the cloak of a philosopher." The French Bulldog originated as a companion dog, and continues to be used as a companion dog. Shrinkabull French bulldogs have a very sweet loving temperment & generally they get along with everyone!

The French Budllog (frenchie) breed is small and muscular with heavy bone structure, smooth coat & short face . Prized for their affectionate natures and even dispositions, they are generally active and alert, but not boisterous.
